Bamboo Cotton Sheets For A Healthier Sleep For People With Asthma

The environment is changing drastically and we are surrounded more and more by different lung and skin problem causing microorganisms. For dust sensitive individuals whether it is because of skin asthma or lung asthma, the evolution of bamboo cotton sheets is indeed a milestone in providing healthy living and sleeping. I remember knowing somebody whose room is full of white things. White bed sheets, white pillow cases, white blankets, white bath towels and she only uses white hankies. This was recommended by her doctor to avoid severe asthma. Although the room looked clean, sadly, it was dull.

Dust mites are the most common irritants or causes of asthma attacks. These microscopic creatures feed off from dust itself that contain dead human skin and other small organic matter. It is the fecal matter that produces chemicals which is highly allergenic and may trigger asthma attack.

Fabrics which were produced out of bamboo are the safest and most hypoallergenic material in the market right now since it is made from organic materials. Studies have shown that this fabric is resistant to organisms like dust mites or bed mites. It has also been found that bamboo holds a natural ability to regulate temperature. Thus, especially during hot season, bamboo sheets can produce a natural cooling ability which is most beneficial to people with asthma problems. This fabric provides warmth during cold weather and at the same time produces enough cooling effect during hot season.

One may think that bamboo fiber is less durable than others. Well that is absolutely a wrong impression. Fabrics from bamboo are even more durable than some linen materials. Not only that, it gives a much softer touch when in contact with our skin, some say it is as soft as silk and sometimes even softer. The only downside to this material is sometimes it could shrink depending on how they are manufactured. But we are talking about sheets here not shirts so that is not really a big problem right now.

To maintain the material's hypoallergenic qualities it is best to use organic washing detergents as much as possible. Refrain from using bleaching materials, this is bad for all types of fabric anyway. Replace the bleaching material with baking soda and soaps or washing detergent that is eco-friendly and one that is of neutral PH.

Maybe I should pay my old friend a visit and see if she is now aware of the benefits in using bamboo cotton sheets. Our home is our kingdom and our bedrooms should be our sanctuary. It is just but right to secure our spaces and make them the safest that it can be.
